RELISTED DUE TO BAD BUYER ???? Rare 1948 Nash Ambassador Model 4868. The only ones I have found in this condition are in private collections or in a museum (Wisconsin Historical Museum). very minor concerns on this one,the rubber that goes around the trunk has dried out which let water in and stand in the very lower part next to the rear and has rusted through(please see pics) Most all vehicles had this problem and there was a weep hole that was there to let water drip out and if that hole got stopped up, this was the result. Everything is as solid as a rock, floors, top, hood, all four doors and headliner. The springs in the seats are still in great shape (not broke down). You can also see the worn places in the front driver's seat, and some wear on the upholstery on the doors. The Nash Model 4868 was the top of the line. It came with every option that was available so this one has it all, in working condition. Lights, turn signals, brake lights, climate control knob, inside hood release, am radio lights up, push starter under clutch, glass is not broke or cracked, all windows roll up and down, all door knobs are in great shape. Transmission is a straight shift on column with pull knob OVERDRIVE, shifts great and works wonderful. Engine is a 234 CI in line 6 (not a flathead) starts excellent and sounds like a well made swiss watch, carburetor rebuilt, new fuel pump, gas lines from tank, and fuel sending unit. Brakes are new, (including wheel and master cylinders).
All the stainless trim is there and is in great condition. The car drives good (66 yrs.old) but the tires are not in the best of shape. The car ran smooth and there were no concerns.
I have tried to describe to the best of my knowledge this great classic ride. This vehicle will be sold as is, so if there are any questions that you have PLEASE ask. It is also for sale locally so I may end ad at any time (and it will be gone). You must also arrange for pickup of vehicle, and I must require a $1,000.00 deposit within 24 hours of sale .Thanks for looking.
