The Nash Ambassador was produced from 1932through 1957.When Nash merged with Hudson Motors in 1954, theAmbassador name was continued, though it was now known as the American Motor CompanyAmbassador. The car is in such perfect condition, it's very difficult to believe that is soon will turn 60! The car has even original CA License plates (front and back). The car drives good, no leakage! The odometer reads 049891. Kept inside at all times! No rust, Californian condition.
All original including the V8 engine under the hood, 325 cubic engine. Drives good and smooth on highway without problem without noises. Very strong body, no whole rusts, no rust, kept in the closed garage at all times. All doors are opening/closing well, no sagging. Original upholstery in place, and can be exchanged for better look, because of some stains and imperfections. Lights are in working condition. Radio needs work done on it. Air Filter on the top of carburetor box isn't original.
There were only 3,885 cars of this model manufactured by American Motor Company, which merged with Hudson Motors in 1954.
When it came time to replace its 1949-1951Airflyte Ambassador, seen to many eyes as a 'bathtub on wheels,' NashMotors went to Italy, to Pininfarina, for body design assistance. The result wasthe 1952 Ambassador that lasted for three model years. The odometer showing 049891, look at the photo listed.
When Nash merged with Hudson Motors in 1954, theAmbassador name was continued, though it was now known as the AMCAmbassador. The name persisted until 1974.
In 1955 Italian Pininfarina was asked to update its own wraparound windshield, concavegrille and multicolor paint scheme. In an effort to stimulate sales, the 1956 and1957 Nash automobiles were offered in a variety of two- and three-tonecolor schemes. For 1957 the headlights came equipped in 'quad'headlight configuration. They were the first cars to have this feature. The Ambassador was Nash's top-of-the-line offering when first introduced. These vehicles were outfitted with fine upholstery and luxury amenities. Very roomy even on the back seat. The passenger's back seat can be pulled flat down to make very nice bed to rest on.
The car has a lot of chrome parts of different size. The trunk opens/closes well, original two keys, spare tire case also opens/closes properly.
The car has Clean California DMV registration and Title, all documents in place.
This summer the car was invited to participate in many shows and different events in California, if you have time, money to invest and desire to show this beauty, you definitely can do that too.
